The Time of YahShua Crucifixion

Introduction: Jesus would have been crucified in the afternoon.
1. When the Romans and Jews brought Jesus to Golgotha, what did
they do with Him? Matthew 27:35.
2. What time of day was He put on the cross? Mark 15:24-25.
Answer: In 30AD, the first hour of the day was at sunrise, so the third
hour of the day would have been 9:00AM.
3. Between what hours of the day was Christ hanging on the cross,
before He died? Mark 15:25, Matthew 27:45-46.
4. What time of day did Christ die? v 46, 50.
5. What time of day was the ninth hour?
Answer: The ninth hour would have been 3:00PM.
6. What happened the moment that Jesus died? v 51.
7. What happened later that day? v 57-58.
8. What did Joseph do with the body? v 59-60.
9. Did Jesus have to be buried before sunset?
Deuteronomy 21:22-23, John 19:30-31.

Conclusion: Jesus was crucified from 9:00AM to 3:00PM.
