FORGIVING ONE ANOTHER

Scripture Reading: Matthew 18:21-35
Memory Verse: Matthew 6:12

Introduction: How important is our forgiveness of others? How important is it to our own salvation?
1. Will God pardon us if we do not forgive others? Mark 11:26.
2. That being so, how should we ask for forgiveness? Matthew 6:12.
3. Should we limit our forgiveness of others? Matthew 18:21-22.
4. According to this parable, what happens to those who do not
forgive others? v 23-35.
5. Then how important is forgiveness? v 33-34.
6. Where should that forgiveness come from? v 35.
7. By forgiving, whose example are we following? Colossians 3:13.
8. Forgiveness of sins is necessary for eternal salvation.
Colossians 1:12-14. Therefore, is forgiveness of others necessary for
our forgiveness and eternal life? Matthew 6:12, 14-15.

Conclusion: Jesus forgives sinners of a lifetime of sins. We should begrateful for the eternal life that comes through that forgiveness. And for
that reason, Jesus requires that we also forgive others.
