LORD’S DAY (Sabbath Observance)

Scripture Reading: Acts 13:42-44

Introduction: Are there examples of Saints keeping the Sabbath Day after Jesus was crucified and resurrected? Yes, there are.
1. Isaiah, speaking for God, calls the Sabbath what? Isaiah 58:13.
2. What was Jesus’ custom on the Sabbath Day? Luke 4:16.
3. What day of the week did Jesus rise from the dead? Matthew 28:1.
4. Immediately after Jesus’s crucifixion, did Jesus’s followers
continue keeping the Sabbath Day? Luke 23:56.
5. Did Jesus’s followers keep the Sabbath Day after His resurrection?
Acts 17:2, Acts 13:14, 42, 44, Acts 16:13, Acts 18:1-4, 11.
6. Since Paul and Jesus were both Sabbath Day observers, should we
be followers of them? 1 Corinthians 11:1.
7. Was Jesus’s life to be a light for the world? Should we follow His
example? John 8:12.

Conclusion: If Jesus had abolished the Sabbath Day, why are there so many examples of Saints observing the Sabbath Day after His resurrection? Jesus is our example. Also, Paul is our example.
