SUMMARY:THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK (Holy or Not?)
DESCRIPTION:Scripture Reading: Matthew 28:1-6\nMemory Verse: Matthew 28:1 \nIntroduction: Is Sunday\, the first day of the week\, holy?\n1. Did God rest or work on the first day of Creation? Genesis 1:3-5.\n2. In the New Testament\, how often is the first day mentioned?\nAnswer: Eight\, Matthew 28:1\, Mark 16:2\, 9\, Luke 24:1\, John 20:1\, 19\,\nActs 20:7\, 1 Corinthians 16:2.\n3. Is the first day ever spoken of as a holy day? No.\n4. Did Jesus Christ ever use the words first day? No.\n5. How do the gospel writers speak of the first day? Matthew 28:1\,\nMark 16:2\, 9\, Luke 24:1\, John 20:1.\nNote: In all of these verses\, no special mention of the first day is\nmade. The first day is only the day that the women came to the tomb.\n6. Was there ever a meeting on the first day of the week? John 20:19. \nNote: Notice that it says that they were gathered for fear of the Jews. This was not a worship service; they were hiding from the authorities. \nConclusion: So far\, we have not found any evidence that the first day of the week is holy. What we have found is that it is just another day.

SUMMARY:THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK (A New Sabbath or Not?)
DESCRIPTION:Scripture Reading: 3 John 1:1-4\nMemory Verse: John 8:12 \nIntroduction: Here are two other scriptures that many Christians use to support their erroneous belief of Sunday\, the first day of the week.\n1. Was there another first day meeting? Acts 20:7.\nNote: Notice that it says that they were gathered to break bread. But\nwhy? Because Paul was ready to depart on the morrow. This was a\nfarewell gathering for the beloved Apostle.\n2. What first day request did Paul make of the Corinthians?\n1 Corinthians 16:1-2.\nNote: This was not a meeting at all\, because Paul asks each person to\n“lay by him in store.” That is to say\, gather your contribution in your\nown home. This shows they were definitely not having a church service\non that day.\n3. So\, what day did Paul observe? For how long? Acts 18:4\, 11.\n4. Was the Sabbath Day Paul’s custom? Acts 17:2.\n5. Was the Sabbath Day Jesus’s custom? Luke 4:16.\n6. Should we follow Jesus? John 8:12. \nConclusion: No scripture supports Sunday as being God’s Sabbath.

SUMMARY:WHAT IS SIN AND WHO ARE SINNERS?
DESCRIPTION:Scripture Reading: 1 John 3:4-9\nMemory Verse: 1 John 5:17 \nIntroduction: The Bible does an excellent job of defining what sin is and who sinners are. Let us investigate.\n1. What is the Bible’s definition of sin? 1 John 3:4.\n2. According to Jesus\, who are sinners? John 8:34.\n3. How does John make the same statement? 1 John 3:4.\n4. What law is John speaking of? 1 John 5:3.\n5. How long ago have these laws been violated? Genesis 3:6-7.\n6. Are there other violations? Nehemiah 13:16-17.\n7. If God’s law is violated in ignorance\, is that a sin? Leviticus 4:2.\n8. If only a part of God’s law is violated\, is that a sin? James 2:10.\n9. What law is James speaking of? James 2:11.\n10. When this woman’s sins\, adultery\, were made public\, what\ncommand did Jesus give her? John 8:11.\n11. By obeying God’s law\, what change will take place? Psalm 19:7. \nConclusion: Jesus commanded the woman caught in adultery to sin no more. We should also sin no more.

SUMMARY:WHAT IS DEATH?
DESCRIPTION:Scripture Reading: Job 14:12-15\nMemory Verse: Psalm 13:3\nIntroduction: What is death? Is it a life in a subterranean cavern? Is it torment by devils with whips and instruments of torture? What is it?\n1. How does the Bible represent death? 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14.\n2. Where do the dead sleep? Daniel 12:2.\n3. How long will the dead sleep in the dust of the ground? Job 14:12.\n4. As a dead man\, what does Job say he will wait for? v 14.\n5. While dead\, where is the person? Job 17:13.\n6. While dead\, what does he know of his relatives? Job 14:21.\n7. When a man dies\, what else also dies? Psalm 146:4.\n8. Do the dead know anything at all? Ecclesiastes 9:5-6.\n9. Can a dead man praise God? Psalm 115:17\, Psalm 6:5. \nConclusion: The Bible speaks of death as sleep. The Saints will sleep until the second coming of Jesus Christ. As Job said\, “so man lieth\ndown\, and riseth not; till the heavens be no more.” So\, while the dead are in the grave\, they have no life\, no thoughts\, no love\, nothing. The\nbodies of the Saints will decay\, until we are resurrected.
