Matthew 28:1\,\nMark 16:2\, 9\, Luke 24:1\, John 20:1.\nNote: In all of these verses\, no special mention of the first day is\nmade. The first day is only the day that the women came to the tomb.\n6. SUMMARY:THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK (A New Sabbath or Not?)
DESCRIPTION:Scripture Reading: 3 John 1:1-4\nMemory Verse: John 8:12 \nIntroduction: Here are two other scriptures that many Christians use to support their erroneous belief of Sunday\, the first day of the week.\n1. Was there another first day meeting? Acts 20:7.\nNote: Notice that it says that they were gathered to break bread. But\nwhy? Because Paul was ready to depart on the morrow. This was a\nfarewell gathering for the beloved Apostle.\n2. What first day request did Paul make of the Corinthians?\n1 Corinthians 16:1-2.\nNote: This was not a meeting at all\, because Paul asks each person to\n“lay by him in store.” That is to say\, gather your contribution in your\nown home. This shows they were definitely not having a church service\non that day.\n3. So\, what day did Paul observe? For how long? Acts 18:4\, 11.\n4. Was the Sabbath Day Paul’s custom? Acts 17:2.\n5. Was the Sabbath Day Jesus’s custom? Luke 4:16.\n6. Should we follow Jesus? John 8:12. \nConclusion: No scripture supports Sunday as being God’s Sabbath.
