Introduction: What price did Jesus Christ pay for our souls?
1. Why did Jesus Christ come into the world? 1 Timothy 1:15.
2. Why did God give His Son to die for mankind? John 3:16.
3. Living more than four hundred years before Jesus, what did the
prophet Isaiah say that Christ would have to endure? Isaiah 53:7-8.
4. Knowing all things, did Jesus know ahead of time what he would
have to suffer? Luke 18:31-33.
5. What emotional experience did Jesus have, knowing that He would
have to suffer for the sins of the world? Matthew 26:37-38.
6. Knowing what was to come, what did Jesus pray for? v 39.
7. How great was the agony of His soul? Luke 22:44.
8. Minutes later, who approached Him, and for what reason? v 47-48.
9. After Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead, how do
we benefit from Jesus’ death? 1 Corinthians 6:14.
Conclusion: Jesus did not simply die, as all men do. He suffered the most excruciating torture known. All this suffering was done for
sinners.
