
CONFESSION
Scripture Reading: Psalm 32:1-3, 5
Memory Verse: 1 John 1:9
Introduction: Should we confess our sins to God? Yes.
1. What is promised to those who confess their sins? 1 John 1:9.
2. Besides God, who else should we confess to? James 5:16.
Note: It does not say, confess to a priest, minister, or a congregation.
3. What is in store for someone who conceals their transgressions?
Proverbs 28:13a.
4. What is in store for someone who confesses their transgressions?
Proverbs 28:13b.
5. Is it even possible to not confess to God, and to keep the
knowledge of our sins from Him? Hebrews 4:13, Psalm 139:4.
6. In the Bible, do we have an excellent example of offering a
confession and asking for forgiveness? Proverbs 51:1.
7. Eventually all will be judged. At that time, will there be any who
will not confess? Romans 14:11-12.
Conclusion: A common saying is, confession is good for the soul. Yes, it is good for the eternal soul. 1 John 1:9.
